Welcome to the Drama Department
Aims
The Drama Deaprtment aims to provide an inclusive, safe learning environment where Drama and Theatre Arts can be studied, explored and enjoyed by all.
The aims of the department are:
- To increase understanding and appreciation of Theatre and Dramatic Arts
- To develop a range of social skills
- To increase the confidence of every student
- To promote independent learning
The policies of the department include:
- Equality– all students are equal and will be treated appropriately
- Inclusion– everyone is to be included in lessons and must participatez
- Maintenance of high standards– within the department and the school we pride ourselves on working to the best of our abilities and always giving 100%.
- Independent learning– in order to achieve the best results students must use information given in class combined with their own further research and reading. Students are responsible for their own learning.
- To employ a range of learning and teaching strategies– to ensure all students have access to the drama curriculum
