The Burton Borough School

History Enrichment Opportunities

We aim to provide all year groups with a diverse experience designed to enthuse and help students engage with their learning. There is a commitment within the new National Curriculum that all children studying history have the chance to visit museums and sites of historical interest and significance. We are always looking to develop these important experiences for our students.

Visits have been arranged to museums such as The Imperial War Museum North and The National Cold War Exhibition. There are opportunities for children to express their learning through model making, art and role plays. Where possible we offer theatre visits, and the use of film and music to enhance the history learning experience. This is an aspect of the history experience at the Burton Borough that we aim to develop further with guest speakers.
