The arts are very important at the Burton Borough School and we are proud of the opportunities we are able offer to our students.
Every year we aim to offer students a wide range of workshops with professional artists. In the past our students have taken part in workshops with groups including Rhythm Attack- a percussion based music group, Nachda Sansaar- a Bhangra dance and music group and Trading Faces- a mask-based theatre company.
Students have also seen a range of performances including Birmingham Reps The Mothership and Fetch Theatres Masque of the Red Death.
All of our Year 7 students have just seen a performance by the Heavy Cavalry Band while our band students took part in a workshop with the musicians. This was a fantastic concert and an excellent learning opportunity for our own musicians.
Part of our aim as an Arts College is to increase 'Arts Across the Curriculum'- to increase the impact that arts has not only around school site but also within other faculties other than the core arts subjects.
